250th Anniversary Shirts, Hats, and 1776–2026 Keepsakes

The 250th anniversary of American independence falls on July 4, 2026. This collection marks 1776–2026 with original artwork, including an arched 1776–2026 star layout, a Liberty Bell, an eagle crest, and 250-years typography printed on shirts, hats, drinkware, stickers, and posters.

This collection is being built. New designs appear here as soon as they are printed and photographed.

Why 2026 is the Semiquincentennial

The Declaration of Independence was adopted in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776. Two hundred fifty years later, July 4, 2026 marks the Semiquincentennial of that vote and of the document that announced the colonies’ separation from Great Britain.

The anniversary is a calendar milestone, not a single style. Some people want a shirt they can wear to a parade or a family reunion. Others want an embroidered cap, a mug for the office, or a poster for a classroom. This collection gathers our 1776–2026 artwork so the same milestone can be worn, displayed, or given.

Our designs use dates and descriptive phrases: 1776–2026, 250 years, and Semiquincentennial. They do not reproduce the official commission logo or wordmark, and Patriot Merch is not affiliated with the United States Semiquincentennial Commission.

The 1776–2026 designs in this collection

Every design begins with the same historical anchor, then takes a different visual route:

  • 1776–2026: 250 Years of American Freedom. Sets the anniversary dates beneath an arc of 13 stars for a clean print that reads clearly on tees, hoodies, mugs, tumblers, stickers, magnets, and posters.
  • 1776–2026 / 250 Years embroidered cap. A compact anniversary mark built specifically for embroidery on dad hats, trucker caps, and beanies.
  • United States Semiquincentennial eagle crest. A heritage bald eagle with a 13-stripe shield and olive branch, marking 250 years from 1776 to 2026 on shirts, hoodies, tumblers, stickers, and posters.
  • Proclaim Liberty 1776–2026 Liberty Bell. Pairs the cracked Liberty Bell silhouette with “Proclaim Liberty” to connect the 250th anniversary to Independence Hall in Philadelphia across tees, mugs, stickers, magnets, and posters.
  • Betsy Ross 13-star flag and cap. Pairs the 13-star circle flag with “Est. 1776” on shirts, hoodies, stickers, posters, and embroidered hats for Fourth of July and 250th anniversary events.

Choosing a 250th anniversary shirt, hat, or hoodie

For warm-weather events, the Bella+Canvas 3001 tee is the lightest option at 4.2 oz./yd.² (142 g/m²). It is 100% combed and ring-spun cotton in solid colors, pre-shrunk, and side-seamed, with a slight stretch. Lighter shades such as White and Vintage White are a little sheer in direct sun.

The Comfort Colors 1717 heavyweight tee is 6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²), garment-dyed, and cut with a relaxed fit. Its heavier cotton holds a large chest print with less show-through, which makes it the better choice for the eagle crest or a poster-style layout. The Bella+Canvas 3719 hoodie is an 8.0 oz/yd² (271 g/m²) fleece pullover with a regular fit, side seams, a kangaroo pocket, and a dyed-to-match drawcord.

Hats are embroidered rather than printed. The Yupoong 6245CM dad hat is unstructured chino cotton twill with a 3 1/8 inch crown and an antique-buckle strap. The Yupoong 6606 trucker cap is structured with hard buckram front panels, a mesh back, a 3.5 inch crown, and a plastic snapback that fits roughly 21 5/8 to 23 5/8 inches. The Yupoong 1501KC beanie is a 12-inch rib-knit in 100% turbo acrylic.

250th anniversary gifts and keepsakes

Not every anniversary purchase needs to be apparel. The ceramic mug is dishwasher and microwave safe and comes in 11 oz and 15 oz sizes. The 20 oz stainless tumbler has double-wall vacuum insulation, a press-in lid, and a tapered base that fits most cup holders. The poster is 10.3 mil matte paper at 189 g/m², available in standard US frame sizes from 8×10 to 18×24 inches.

Stickers are 95-micron high-opacity vinyl, cut to shape and made for laptops, coolers, and water bottles. Magnets use 0.5 mm flexible vinyl with a magnetic backing for a fridge or toolbox. These small items are useful add-ons when a shirt or hat alone feels too formal for the occasion.

Caring for a 250th anniversary print

Turn printed shirts and hoodies inside out, wash cold with similar colors, and tumble dry low. Avoid chlorine bleach and do not iron directly over the ink. Embroidered caps and beanies should be spot cleaned or hand washed, then air dried so the crown and cuff keep their shape. Mugs and tumblers are dishwasher safe; the poster should stay out of direct sunlight and damp rooms.

Frequently asked questions

What does semiquincentennial mean?

Semiquincentennial means a 250th anniversary. It combines the Latin prefix semi- (half of a half, or one quarter) with quincentennial, the term for a 500th anniversary. In the United States the word is used for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026.

When is the 250th anniversary of the United States?

The Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, so its 250th anniversary is July 4, 2026. The Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2, 1776, and most delegates signed the engrossed parchment on August 2, 1776.

Are these official America250 or government products?

No. Patriot Merch is an independent print-on-demand shop. Our 1776–2026 designs are original artwork, and we are not affiliated with the United States Semiquincentennial Commission or any government agency. We use descriptive date phrasing rather than the commission's wordmark.

Which designs are included in the 250th anniversary collection?

The collection includes an arched 1776–2026 star layout, a quarter-millennium cap mark, an eagle crest, a Liberty Bell design, a 13-colonies-to-50-states design, a Declaration anniversary layout, and a "250 years, one Constitution" typographic design.

What product types are available for 250th anniversary designs?

Designs are offered across lightweight and heavyweight tees, long-sleeve shirts, pullover hoodies, dad hats, trucker caps, beanies, ceramic mugs, stainless tumblers, kiss-cut stickers, magnets, and matte posters. Not every design is available on every blank.

Which 250th anniversary item makes the best gift?

An embroidered hat or a heavyweight tee is the easiest gift because it needs no size guess beyond the usual shirt size. A mug, tumbler, magnet, or poster works well as a lower-cost add-on for a colleague, host, or family member who already has plenty of shirts.
