2nd Amendment Shirts and Constitutional Rights Apparel

Shop 2nd Amendment shirts, heavyweight tees, hoodies, and stickers featuring Shall Not Be Infringed and 1791 typography on ring-spun cotton blanks.

Constitutional heritage and the Second Amendment

The Bill of Rights was written to set clear constitutional limits on federal authority and protect individual liberties. Within our patriotic apparel catalog, our 2nd Amendment shirts commemorate the 1791 ratification of the Second Amendment using direct constitutional wording rather than graphic weapon illustrations.

Our collection uses a single, clean typographic layout across every product. There are no firearms, skulls, or partisan slogans, making these shirts and hoodies straightforward options for everyday wear, range days, or Constitution Day gatherings.

Ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791

Drafted primarily by James Madison during the First Federal Congress in 1789, the proposed amendments were sent to the states in September 1789 to fulfill assurances made during the ratification debates over the 1787 Constitution. On December 15, 1791, Virginia became the eleventh state to ratify ten of the proposed amendments, bringing the Bill of Rights into effect.

The public-domain text of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution reads:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Drawing on English common law, colonial militia statutes, and the experience of the Revolutionary War, the framers treated the right of the people to keep and bear arms as an essential check against tyranny and a foundation of self-defense in a constitutional republic.

The Shall Not Be Infringed design and product lineup

Every item in the 2nd Amendment collection carries the same graphic: the words “THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE / SHALL NOT / BE INFRINGED” stacked in bold type with the ratification year “1791” centered between two horizontal red rules. We offer four products with this design:

Frequently asked questions

What is the exact text of the Second Amendment?

Ratified on December 15, 1791, as part of the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution states: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

What graphic design is printed on your 2nd Amendment shirts and gear?

Every item in this collection uses a typography-only design with no firearms or weapon illustrations. The layout reads "THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE / SHALL NOT / BE INFRINGED" stacked above the ratification year "1791" set between two horizontal red rules. There are no skulls or partisan slogans, and this clean graphic appears across our lightweight tee, heavyweight tee, pullover hoodie, and kiss-cut vinyl sticker.

What garment blanks are used in the 2nd Amendment collection?

We print this design on three garments and a vinyl sticker. The standard tee is the 4.2 oz./yd.² (142 g/m²) Bella+Canvas 3001 in 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (heather colors contain polyester). The heavyweight tee is the 6.1 oz/yd² (206.8 g/m²) Comfort Colors 1717 in 100% ring-spun garment-dyed cotton. The pullover hoodie is the 8.0 oz/yd² (271 g/m²) Bella+Canvas 3719 in 52% airlume combed ring-spun cotton and 48% poly fleece (60/40 in heather colors).

How should I wash and dry these shirts and hoodies?

Machine wash your tee or hoodie inside out in cold water with similar colors and a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry, and avoid ironing directly over the printed text. Washing inside out protects the print and maintains the ring-spun cotton fabric on our Bella+Canvas 3001 and garment-dyed Comfort Colors 1717 tees, as well as the soft poly fleece of our pullover hoodie.

How do the Bella+Canvas 3001 and Comfort Colors 1717 tees differ in fit?

The Bella+Canvas 3001 is a lightweight 4.2 oz./yd.² side-seamed shirt with a soft feel and slight stretch; note that lighter shades such as White and Vintage White are slightly sheer. The Comfort Colors 1717 is a thicker 6.1 oz/yd² garment-dyed shirt with a relaxed fit, a 7/8 inch double-needle topstitched collar, and twill-taped neck and shoulders.
